I am a social and cultural historian of modern Italy, with a focus on Italy in the 19th and 20th centuries. I am particularly interested in the First World War period, the history of Italian migration and avant-garde art movements especially Italian Futurism.

I am a Lecturer in Italian Studies at University College London.

Prior to joining UCL in 2022, I was a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer in Modern European History at Royal Holloway, University of London (2018–22) and an Assistant Professor of Italian Studies at University College Dublin (2016–18). Previously, I was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
